Include ‘Lahuji Salve’ History in Curriculum

Hyderabad: As part of the Literary Week organized by the Telangana government, a book introduction program on “Krantipita Guruvarya Lahuji Salve” was held grandly at Ravindra Bharathi. The event was presided over by Telangana Sahitya Akademi Secretary Dr. N. Balachari. The book, originally written in Marathi, was translated into Telugu by Gaikwad Tulsidas Mang and published by the Telangana Sahitya Akademi.

Chief guest and writer Kripakar Ponugoti, while introducing the book, said that Lahuji Salve not only fought against British rule for freedom but also played a crucial role in shaping many great personalities and working towards social upliftment. He highlighted Salve’s significant contribution to the movement for girls’ education and his strong support to pioneering women educators Savitribai Phule and Fatima Sheikh.

Distinguished guests Dr. Pasunoori Ravinder and Professor Vageshan emphasized that everyone should read this book and urged the government to include Lahuji Salve’s history as part of the academic curriculum.

Translator Gaikwad Tulsidas Mang expressed gratitude to the Telangana government and Tourism & Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao for publishing the book in Telugu. He also thanked Telangana Sahitya Akademi Secretary Dr. N. Balachari, Marathi author Chandrakant Van Khede, Professor C. Kasim, B.S. Ramulu, Wahad, and others for their support.

Several dignitaries, including P. Krishnayya (State President, Erukula Sangham), Naveen Raju (President, Yuva Sena), Secretariat officials, Dr. Vishwakarma, Amruth Kalyan, Kamble Shankar Mang, K. Sudhakar Mang, N. Ramakant Mang, and others, attended the event.
