In a significant stride towards enhancing hygiene and education standards, the Telangana Development Forum (TDF) has extended its support to seven government schools in Maldakal Mandal, Gadwal district, under the visionary initiative “Mana Telangana Badi (MTB) project”. Spearheaded by Mr. Srinivas Manikonda from the Bay Area, California, and Dr. Thota Ganesh from Atlanta, GA, along with financial backing from TDF-USA, this endeavor aims to foster clean and hygienic school environments by providing scavengers for school toilets.
Expressing optimism, TDF India President Matta Rajeshwar Reddy emphasized that this initiative would not only attract new admissions but also deter school dropouts. During his visit to the schools alongside TDF India General Secretary A. Vinil and dedicated volunteers, Reddy witnessed firsthand the impact of the project on ground realities.
During a visit to ZPHS, Amaravai, Maldakal Mandal, Gadwal district, the TDF India team, accompanied by HM Sri Naresh garu and school staff, distributed cheques and conducted an inspection. It was revealed that the school, recognized as a Complex School, is pivotal in mentoring 17 primary schools under the innovative “Complex school” concept. The infrastructure, a result of the “Manavuru manibadi” project, boasts modern classrooms, water plants, computer labs, science labs, and digital connectivity through T-fibre.
However, the challenge of scavenger unavailability persists, hindering the seamless operation of these facilities, as highlighted by the HM. In response, TDF India President Matta Rajeshwar Reddy pledged to escalate the issue in the forthcoming TDF Education report, advocating for necessary action from the Government of Telangana.
Furthermore, recognizing the need for a modern mobile science lab/library for the Complex School, the school staff proposed a solution to extend educational resources to all 17 schools efficiently.
Over the past eight years, TDF has been instrumental in bolstering infrastructure, classroom equipment, digital classrooms, clean water plants, and science laboratories across various schools in Telangana under the TDF MTB project. The inclusion of scavenger support marks a significant addition to this noble endeavor.
TDF urges the Government of Telangana to ensure the provision of scavengers at all government schools, emphasizing the critical role they play in maintaining healthy and hygienic school environments conducive to effective learning.
