Milwaukee:
To help Indian students in the United States tackle various challenges—such as safety concerns, mental health issues, immigration rules, and post-graduation career opportunities—the American Telugu Association (ATA) organized a comprehensive Student Orientation Program at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee (UWM). This university is widely known as the alma mater of Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. The event was held in collaboration with several Indian student organizations on campus.
The primary aim of the program was to offer guidance, resources, and mentorship related to academics and life in the U.S. Eminent professionals, including police officers, immigration attorneys, career counselors, insurance experts, and successful entrepreneurs interacted with the students and shared their insights.

UWM Chief of Police Brian Switala and Police Lieutenant Alexander Ewend provided safety-related advice and explained how to access university and local emergency resources.
Economics Emeritus Professor Dr. Swarnjit S. Arora emphasized the importance of developing cultural adaptability, communication, and interpersonal skills for global success.
Tech entrepreneur and venture investor Ravi Reddy (CEO), SplashBI Co-founder and President Kiran Pasam, and entrepreneur KK Reddy discussed strategies for securing internships, networking, staying updated with technology, and building strong careers in relevant fields.
Immigration lawyers from Somireddy Law Firm and Prashanthi Reddy Law Offices guided students on CPT, OPT regulations, immigration compliance, and recent challenges. They also addressed students’ questions.
Insurance specialist Krishna Rangaraju explained the health and life insurance options available to international students and highlighted the importance of adequate coverage in emergencies.
ATA President Jayanth Challa, Secretary Sainath Reddy Boyapalli, Board of Trustees members Mahinder Muskula, Ven Reddy, RV Reddy, and Krishna Rangaraju attended the program. ATA Media Chair Bhanu Swargam and the Milwaukee team—Polireddy Ganta, Chandramouli Saraswathi, Jayanth Para, Karunakar Reddy, Venkat Jalari, Santoshi Valluri, Raja Nethi, Vivekanand Kommineni, Vikranth Reddy Kunduru, and Vijay Kishan Valluri—played key roles in coordinating the event.
Special appreciation was conveyed to Saigroup volunteers Nikhila Kalidindi and Jawahar Reddy for their dedicated efforts in ensuring the smooth conduct of the program.
ATA leaders expressed confidence that the event would make the lives of Indian students in America easier and strengthen their future opportunities.
