TDF: Awareness workshop on natural farming for farmers

Bibipet (Kamareddy): The Telangana Development Forum (TDF) and Thota foundation under the aegis of Jai Kisan organized an awareness workshop on indigenous seeds and chemical-free methods for farmers in the Bibipet gram panchayat of Kamareddy district. TDF India President Matta Rajeshwar Reddy advised farmers to completely reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. He said that eating food grown with chemicals and pesticides leads to health problems. He said that farmers should not use any pesticides or chemicals in their farming, as it can lead to cancer. He advised them to practice natural farming and give good soil health to future generations. He told the farmers that we can breathe clean air, drink good water and also have good soil by preventing soil and water pollution.

TDF Jai Kisan India Chairman Narendra Reddy advised the farmers to take the seeds they need as part of the Jai Kisan project, cultivate them without chemicals, and first take them for their family members to eat. He asked them to share their experiences with other farmers later. He also advised them to take one or two acres for home, not more at a time. He said that the seeds required for that will also be provided by TDF Jai Kisan. He asked the ideal farmers who are willing to do so to submit their names to the village president, Agriculture Extension Officer, TDF.

Organization representatives and Nature Farming Award winner Siddhiramulu educated the farmers about natural farming. Green MenuSure seeds with nine grains were distributed to 25 farmers. TDF India President Matta Rajeshwar Reddy, TDF – Jai Kisan President Pati Narendra Reddy, TDF Best Farmer Siddhi Ramulu, AEO Sagar, Raghuveer, farmers and Bibipet villagers participated in the program.
