IUML Bolsters National Presence in INDIA Alliance
Sayyid Munavvar Ali Shihab Thangal, National Secretary of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), reaffirmed the party’s commitment to fortifying the INDIA alliance at the national level. Emphasizing opposition unity, Thangal highlighted IUML’s growing influence in national politics as a key ally. The party’s focus on advocating for minority rights and empowering marginalized communities, including Dalits and backward classes, has elevated its national significance.
Through its three-pronged mission—youth development, women’s empowerment, and upliftment of backward communities—IUML has solidified its role as a progressive force in India’s pluralistic democracy. This commitment was recently recognized when Tamil Nadu honored IUML President K.M. Khader Mohideen with the prestigious Thagaisal Tamilar, the state’s highest civilian award, for his decades of socio-political leadership.
Call for Coordinated Action
During a recent visit to Jeddah, Thangal urged leaders and members of the Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (KMCC) to support IUML’s initiatives for the educational, political, and social empowerment of Muslim, Dalit, and other minority communities across India. Speaking at a reception hosted by the Jeddah KMCC Central Committee at the Lucky Darbar Hotel Auditorium, Thangal expressed gratitude to the Indian diaspora and delivered an inspiring address on unity and progress.
E. Ahamed Sahib Memorial Super 7 Football Tournament
In a tribute to the late Indian statesman E. Ahamed Sahib, Thangal ceremoniously launched the brochure for the E. Ahamed Sahib Memorial Super 7 football tournament, scheduled for September 19. The event, organized to celebrate sportsmanship within the Indian diaspora, saw Thangal present the brochure to Nizam Mampad, Secretary of the Saudi Indian Football Federation (SIFF).
Leadership Training for Pro-Migrant Governance
Marking the launch of its election campaign for local self-government institutions, the Jeddah KMCC Central Committee announced a one-day leadership training camp on August 8, themed Pro-Migrant Friendly Local Governance. Thangal inaugurated the registration process by enrolling Mahjar Area KMCC President Kareem Sahib as the first participant. During the event, KMCC Central Committee President Abubacker Arimbra presented Thangal with a commemorative memento, recognizing his election as IUML National Secretary.

Abdul Kareem Kootilangadi, Chairman of the KMCC NORKA Cell, led an interactive session addressing queries about the Pravasi Pension Scheme and NORKA card benefits. The session, presided over by Abubacker Arimbra, was inaugurated by V.P. Muhammadali, Chairman of JNH. V.P. Musthafa welcomed attendees, fostering a collaborative atmosphere. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Abdul Rahman Vellimadakunnu, acknowledging the contributions of all participants.
